With the results of Tuesday's special election for County Supervisor District 4 coming into focus, we want to congratulate both Democratic candidates for their spirited campaigns.
While no candidate pulled over 50%, there will now be a run-off election on November 7th and the choices couldn't be more different.
That's why we are calling a special endorsement meeting to be held (virtually) on Thursday, August 31 at 6:30pm to consider consolidating our support behind Monica Montgomery Steppe.
You can register for the special virtual meeting here.
Both Democratic candidates combined for 66% of the vote on Tuesday, proving that even in the throws of a hot summer, District 4 remains a solidly Democratic seat.
Either way, it's a stark contrast to the privileged Trump-supporting, election-denying, anti-science Karen running (again) on the Republican side.
Speaking of re-considering endorsements, we will also re-consider an endorsement for the open State Senate District 39 seat.
Finally, our friends and allies at SEIU-UHW reached out ask us for support for healthcare workers. We will consider endorsing a letter of support for the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions.
For truth, justice, and a better tomorrow...
