At a special meeting earlier tonight, our San Diego Democrats for Equality members unanimously endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris & Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to be our next President and Vice President of the United States.
What a year the last couple of weeks have been!
Earlier this week, Kamala Harris was certified as our Democratic nominee for President, and she tapped Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
The excitement around our Democratic ticket and the energy to win in November is off the charts. People are fired up and ready to go!
In what appears to be near-universal acclaim from Democrats, we've been waking up a lot happier the last few days.
We heard Gov. Walz kicked off the "weird" craze, and chuckled.
Then, we saw the announcement video when Kamala Harris made the call and got teary-eyed.
Then, we saw the viral social media post of all the correct ways Gov. Walz uses a couch, and we laughed.
Then, we heard that when Tim Walz was a high school coach, he advised his school's first-ever gay-straight alliance, and we cried more happy tears.
Then, we heard of the amazing work Gov. Walz has accomplished in Minnesota -- codifying abortion rights and protections into law, restricting conversion therapy, enacting paid family, medical, and sick leave, background checks and gun safety laws, universal school meals -- and we got motivated to win this thing!
The momentum is our side to win this election in less than 90 days, so let's get to work!
