Virtual Club Meeting: March 21st, 2024

Join us for our next virtual club meeting on Thursday, March 21st at 6:30pm.

We will swear-in our newly elected and re-elected executive board members, and we'll review updated election results from local contests and highlight high-profile races happening across the state. As mentioned in our election update yesterday, we will consider consolidating our club's support for Adam Schiff for U.S. Senate.

Also, we'll consider friendly incumbent endorsements for both Chula Vista Elementary School Board seats, San Marcos Unified Area A, Vista Unified School Board, and will re-consider a formal endorsement for Lemon Grove Mayor.

Voter Guide: 2024 Presidential Primary Election

Ballots have been mailed out, and early voting starts Monday, February 5th!

Our voter guide is being mailed out to our club members and is a handy and trusted guide for our recommendations and endorsed candidates that will primarily (no pun intended) be on the ballot for the Presidential Primary Election on March 5th, 2024.

We have a no-frills, printer-friendly version of our voter guide available as well for your convenience.

Virtual Club Meeting: February 15th, 2024

Join us for our next virtual club meeting on Thursday, February 15th at 6:30pm.

We will consider a friendly incumbent endorsement for Lemon Grove Councilmember George Gastil, and consider endorsements for the other seat on the Lemon Grove City Council, as well as Lemon Grove Mayor, and Southwestern Community College Board Area 3. Also, it's that time again for us to conduct our annual elections for positions on our executive board.

Special Virtual Meeting: January 28, 2024

With the March 5th Primary Election fast approaching, we will be spending this month finishing off endorsements that will be on the ballot so that we can finalize our club's voter guide.

Apparently, there will be two ballot measures (Proposition 1 and Measure A) on the Primary Election ballot that we neglected to notice consideration for at our regularly scheduled club meeting coming up on January 18th (which you can register for here).

So, we are calling a special virtual meeting on Sunday, January 28th at 12:00pm.

Announcing Our 2024 Freedom Awards Honorees

We are excited to announce our honorees for our upcoming Freedom Awards Brunch on Sunday, January 21st.

Join us as we celebrate some remarkable achievements over the last year by recognizing and honoring some very special club members, allies, and organizations that have made a significant impact in our communities over the last year.

January 18th Virtual Meeting

With the March 5th Primary Election right around the corner, we will finish off endorsements that will be on the ballot so that we can finalize our club's voter guide.

2024 Freedom Awards Brunch: Tickets Available!

We are excited to welcome our club members, elected officials, and sponsors as we host our Freedom Awards Brunch on Sunday, January 21st at 11:00am at The Westin Gaslamp.

The Freedom Awards serve as the San Diego Democrats for Equality’s signature fundraising event, where we honor and recognize outstanding club members and LGBTQ+ leaders and allies who have made a significant impact within our club, the Democratic Party, and our communities.

December 14th Special Endorsement Meeting!

We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with friends, family, and loved ones!

Although we normally don't have club meetings in December, there are a number of special circumstances coming up where our party will need to consider endorsements in January, and that leaves us with no good options on trying to scheduling something during the holidays.

So, to prevent minimal obligations during the holiday season, we are calling a special club meeting to be held on Thursday, December 14th (second Thursday) at our regular time of 6:30pm.

November 2023 Virtual Meeting!

Join us for our virtual meeting this month on Thursday, November 16th at 6:30pm.

As some of our North County races start to get under way, we will consider a friendly incumbent endorsement for one of our amazing LGBTQ+ incumbents: Vista District 3 Councilmember Katie Melendez.

Also, we will consider endorsements for Assembly Districts 74 & 75, and for Superior Court Judge Office 41.

October 2023 Virtual Meeting!

Join us for our virtual meeting this month on Thursday, October 19th at 6:30pm, as we consider an endorsement for U.S. Senate. There is a high-profile Democratic race between Congressmembers Barbara Lee, Katie Porter, and Adam Schiff.

The California Democratic Party will be considering an endorsement at the next state convention in Sacramento next month.

Also, we will hear a presentation on why local judicial elections are important.
