At-Large
Director

Ethan_Fitzgerald.pngEthan Fitzgerald is an At-Large Director of San Diego Democrats for Equality.

He is a proud San Diegan, born and raised in the community he cares deeply about serving. Ethan is grateful for the opportunity to stay engaged in the local Democratic community while continuing to learn and grow as a public servant.

Ethan has had the privilege of interning in Mayor Todd Gloria’s Office and in the Washington, D.C. office of Congressman Scott Peters. He also worked as an intern and later Senior Organizer with the San Diego County Democratic Party, and served as a summer campaign staffer for Congressman Mike Levin’s 2024 re-election campaign. Each of these experiences strengthened his commitment to thoughtful, community-centered leadership.

In addition to his government and campaign work, Ethan is a youth advocate and the founder of Students for Mental Health Action, a student-led nonprofit focused on expanding access to mental health care and elevating student voices in policy conversations.

Currently, he serves as the sole intern at the LGBTQ Victory Fund and as the Political Action and Community Engagement Co-Chair for the Human Rights Campaign’s Greater Washington, D.C. area steering committee. Ethan is passionate about building a Democratic Party that is inclusive, responsive, and rooted in community — and he is thankful to play a part in that work here in San Diego.
